[The feed begins with a normal sight: a pokémon tinkering with the pokégear. It's a ledyba, which is strange considering how cold the weather has been these last few ~~weeks~~ days. Stranger still are its surroundings. No warm rooms for this little buggy, it's exploring the great outdoors! ...A bug-type? Wandering in the snowy outdoors? Without its trainer? From the lopsided view of the camera, the ledyba seems only steps outside of Cherrygrove City. It continues wandering until it comes towards the city's entrance.]

Ledyba. [The small pokémon hurries towards the voice and calls back with its own name. From its position on the ground, only so much of the world around it can be seen. The lower half of a young boy approaches it, his steps lithe even in thick snow. From the waist up he cannot be seen but a smile can still be heard in his voice.] Ledyba. What are you doing here?

[The pokémon and its camera hobble towards the boy, only to meet with a swift kick of his boot. The camera spirals backward and the ledyba with it.] I said go back to the old man! Get out of here, stupid!

[The boy doesn't kick it again. He kneels down beside it, his face easily seen now. He seems almost remorseful, as he reaches down to touch the ledyba. He picks up the pokémon by two of its limbs and stands up.] You know I don't like doing things like this, ledyba, but if you don't become stronger how am I supposed to have you follow me? You couldn't even fight against that rat. Maybe you're no better than bait. Is that it, ladybird?

[Ledyba shakes its head which entices a laugh from its trainer. Satisfied, Alois starts to walk back towards the city only to stop in his tracks. The pokégear was directly underfoot. With a smile, he picks it up and shuts off the feed.]

Thank you, ma'm. [Another smile, another lie.]

Oh? Ledyba had shown how powerful it was when it confused those other pokémon. [This woman seemed so meek and motherly. It annoyed him, just enough.]

The one you have is also impressive. I'll keep what you've said about bugs in mind, Sister Iris. ...I'm sure it's a girl. [He shrugged.] I'm only calling it by what it is. It is a ladybird. A very big one, but a ladybird nonetheless.

That's right! I'm sure your Pokemon will be of great help to you. She can also help you catch other Pokemon!

Thank you! She just recently evolved. _{[Iris smiles.]} I see. It does make a very good name though.

Oh? Then I'll be sure to put her to good use. [The wheels in his mind have started turning. Oh the things he could do with Ledyba, so long as she became stronger.]

"Evolved"? I'm sorry miss, but I don't know what you mean by that. ...I suppose that could be its name. You'd like that, ladybird? [Ledyba seems pleased and it cuddles close to Alois. He doesn't mind as he pulls her closer. It was nice to have something near him, especially in the cold.]

_{[She smiles.]} I'm sure you will. She'll be a great help to you, I'm sure of it.

Oh, I'm sorry. I've forgotten you're new here. Evolution occurs when a Pokemon becomes stronger. They change in shape, gain new abilities, and usually increase in size.

It's a very sweet name. How did you think of it? _{[She smiles at the adorable scene.]} See, you too are getting along well already!

I'm already looking forward to it! Tell me, how do I find out what ladybird becomes?

[Maybe Ledyba will become some amazing creature that could defy the very laws of the world! ...Or it may become sweeter. Either option worked.]

Where I'm from, that's what insects like her are called. There's even a nursery rhyme that goes with it. [He chuckles as he remembers it.] Would you like to hear it?

Well, you can always ask around. I had no idea what some of my Pokemon would turn into until I talked to some of my friends who had the same type of Pokemon evolve.

A nursery rhyme? Oh yes, I'd love to hear it!

Your friends must be very helpful. [He was beginning to tire of the formalities.]

If you insist, Sister Iris~. [With a smile, he began the short rhyme in a pseudo-lilting voice.]

Ladybird ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire
Your children shall burn.

They are quite helpful. That's why it's so nice having friends!

H-How terrible! Why would they sing something like that as a nursery rhyme?

...Friends, you say. I haven't got a one, so it mustn't be nice at all to have them.

Because nursery rhymes weren't meant to be kind or friendly in the least. They're awful things told to children to keep them quiet at night.

[And yet he believed in them, clung to them with the stubbornness of a child scorned.] They are quite true, you know~.

You don't have friends? Oh that's terrible! A sweet young boy like you deserves many friends. I'd be happy to be called your friend.

A-Are you sure? I thought nursery rhymes were supposed to be soothing for the child...

[He hadn't intended for it to sound as ... terrible as that, but the words had slipped and there was no going back.] I'm surprised you think so highly of me, Sister Iris.

Really now? They've always seemed rather morbid to me.

Of course! I like to believe there is good in every person. And so every person deserves a friend!

Well, I suppose some of them are. But others are really quite nice!

Do you now? ...I have one friend, but he's not here now. [why he telling you this lady]

_{[Iris thinks for a second, before reciting "Ba Ba Black Sheep."]} That one is rather kind.

[She was full of fun surprises. It wasn't often that he found a woman he actually didn't mind speaking to.] Claude. He's tall and quite dapper. A lady like you would spot him in no time.

[He's humoring her. He didn't want to think too much about Claude. The wounds were still too fresh. He listens to "Ba Ba Black Sheep" with a smile.] It is kind. May you recite it again?
